Pay Grade: (25) $39, 852.80 - $54,121.60


Value of State-paid Dental Insurance: $13.13 biweekly

Value* of State-paid Health Insurance:

Level 1: 100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing): $363.77 biweekly

Level 2: 95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%): $345.58 biweekly

Level 3: 90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%): $327.39 biweekly

Level 4: 85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%): $309.20 biweekly

*The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program as of July 1, 2013.

Value of State’s share of employee’s retirement: 17.07 % of pay.

This position will participate in Market Conduct Examinations and investigations of insurance companies and related regulated entities. This is professional services work in reviewing, investigating and responding to complaints, inquiries and requests for assistance concerning insurance companies and other related regulated entities that are received from other governmental agencies and the public. Employees in this classification handle the most complex cases, working on examinations which may involve examiners from other divisions Work is performed under limited supervision and may require 40% travel. Travel may vary from year to year based on the needs of the Bureau. Travel may encompass both in and out of state travel. When traveling the incumbent may do so for one or more weeks at a time, requiring accommodations, meals and transportation. Where and when we travel is not easily forecast and is dependent on, in part emergent issues.

This position will be based out of Gardiner.

Knowledge of and experience working with laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the insurance industry, the principles and practices of the insurance industry, operations and management, insurance and insurance related products, statistical sampling methods and investigation techniques is required. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively orally and in writing is also required.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor Degree in Business/Public Administration or closely related field and two (2) years experience in insurance or related field -OR- a six (6) year equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in insurance or closely related field. Experience examining insurance companies and related regulated entities for compliance with established laws, rules, and regulations is preferred.

After meeting the above minimum qualifications, preference will be given to candidates who exhibit experience working with life/health insurance companies.
